Abstract: The present invention relates to a smart system and method for monitoring, managing, and optimizing the distribution of essential commodities under a Public Distribution System (PDS). The system comprises a centralized database configured to maintain beneficiary records, ration stock details, quota allocations, and distribution transaction logs. A processing unit receives stock and beneficiary data from point-of-sale (POS) terminals or manual data entry interfaces and processes the received data to determine stock availability, beneficiary eligibility, and permissible quota allocations. The system incorporates quota validation and location-based verification mechanisms to facilitate accurate allocation and controlled distribution of essential commodities to registered beneficiaries. Further, the system monitors stock inflow and outflow patterns to identify potential stock depletion, discrepancies, and abnormal distribution activities, and generates alerts for authorized administrators. A monitoring interface provides real-time information through dashboards, reports, and administrative controls, thereby facilitating transparent supervision and informed decision-making. The system is further configured to support integration with biometric authentication devices, government supply databases, and digital welfare platforms. The invention improves stock management, facilitates equitable allocation of essential commodities, reduces distribution irregularities, and enhances transparency, traceability, and operational efficiency in public distribution networks.
