Abstract: ABSTRACT A SMARTPHONE-INTEGRATED SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR NON-DESTRUCTIVE ESTIMATION OF PESTICIDE RESIDUE ON AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS A smartphone-integrated system and method for non-destructive estimation of pesticide residue on agricultural products The present invention discloses a smartphone-integrated portable system and method for non-destructive estimation of pesticide residues on agricultural products such as fruits and vegetables. The system comprises an optical sensing module configured to illuminate the surface of a target sample and acquire reflected or emitted light carrying spectral information associated with pesticide residues. The captured optical signals are received by a detector and forwarded to a processing unit for preprocessing, including noise reduction and feature extraction. The processed data is analyzed using chemometric techniques and/or machine learning or deep learning models to estimate the concentration of pesticide residues present on the sample surface. The proposed system enables rapid, on-site, and non-invasive assessment of food safety, providing a convenient and cost-effective solution for monitoring pesticide contamination in agricultural produce.
