Abstract: This invention presents a highly sensitive Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR)-based biosensor for the rapid and early detection of cancer cells. The proposed sensor is designed to overcome the limitations of conventional SPR systems, including low specificity toward circulating tumour cells (CTCs), poor signal-to-noise ratio, slow response time, and instability in biomolecule immobilization. The invention utilizes a functionalized metallic sensing surface with enhanced binding efficiency and stability to improve selective detection performance. By enabling real-time, label-free analysis with high sensitivity and rapid response, the proposed SPR biosensor offers significant potential for biomedical diagnostics, clinical screening, and point-of-care cancer detection. The invention provides an efficient and reliable platform for early-stage cancer diagnosis and improved healthcare monitoring.
