Abstract: ABSTRACT: Title: A Statistical Framework for Developing Reliable and Valid Performance Metrics The present invention relates to a computer-implemented statistical framework for developing reliable and valid performance metrics from multi-dimensional performance data. The framework receives performance observations from one or more data sources and performs data-quality assessment, preprocessing, normalization, transformation, and generation of candidate performance metrics. Each candidate metric is statistically evaluated for reliability and validity using parameters including consistency, stability, measurement error, correlation with reference variables, predictive performance, sensitivity, and temporal behaviour. A metric-quality score is generated by combining selected statistical parameters according to configurable evaluation criteria. Candidate metrics are ranked and a metric satisfying predetermined acceptance thresholds is selected for deployment. A monitoring module continuously or periodically evaluates the deployed metric using subsequent performance observations to identify statistical drift, degradation, instability, or changes in measurement characteristics. Upon detection of a predetermined condition, the framework initiates recalibration, modification, redevelopment, or replacement of the metric. The framework thereby provides a systematic and traceable mechanism for generating, validating, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining performance metrics across different operational environments.
