Abstract: The present invention relates to a surface-based produced-water-assisted chemical delivery system and method for treatment of hydrocarbon wells. Produced water available within a hydrocarbon production system is utilized as a carrier fluid for transporting one or more treatment chemicals from a surface location to one or more treatment intervals within a wellbore through an annular injection pathway. The system comprises a produced-water carrier-fluid source, a chemical storage arrangement, a chemical dosing arrangement, and an injection arrangement configured to deliver produced water and one or more treatment chemicals into a hydrocarbon well. In one embodiment, the carrier-fluid-treatment-chemical mixture is transported utilizing an available pressure differential. In another embodiment, the mixture is pressurized and distributed to one or more hydrocarbon wells through a centralized distribution arrangement. The invention enables treatment chemical delivery utilizing produced water as a carrier fluid while reducing dependence on capillary-string-based injection systems and externally sourced carrier fluids.
