Abstract: The present invention discloses a sustainable, chromium-free method for corrosion protection of iron substrates using a tannic acid–based two-step conversion treatment. The resulting conversion coating exhibits enhanced electrochemical corrosion resistance, aqueous stability, and compatibility with eco-friendly topcoats, making the process suitable for industrial, rural, and artisanal corrosion protection applications.
