Abstract: A switch assembly (100) is disclosed. The switch assembly (100) includes a housing (102), a first actuation mechanism disposed within the housing (102) and biased by a first biasing element (114), and a second actuation mechanism coupled with the first actuation mechanism and biased by a second biasing element (118). The switch assembly (100) further includes a first micro-switch (122a) in a first default state and a second micro-switch (122b) in a second default state opposite to the first default state. The first actuation mechanism is configured to actuate the second actuation mechanism to adjust contact points of the first micro-switch (122a) and the second micro-switch (122b). The second actuation mechanism is configured to transition the first micro-switch (122a) and the second micro-switch (122b) through an overlapping condition in which both the first micro-switch (122a) and the second micro-switch (122b) are simultaneously in the same electrical state.
