Abstract: A stove monitoring and unattended-cooking detection system (100) comprises a housing (102), a rechargeable battery (110), an electrical charging interface (112), an electronic controller (114), a primary electronic control board (116), a thermal sensing module (118), an acoustic transducer (120), a visual indicator module (122), and a wireless communication antenna (124). The thermal sensing module (118) detects heat generated by a cooking surface and provides thermal data to the electronic controller (114). The electronic controller (114) processes the thermal data to classify cooking activity as attended or unattended using heat persistence, elapsed time, and user-presence indicators. Upon determining an unattended-cooking condition, the electronic controller (114) activates the acoustic transducer (120), the visual indicator module (122), and transmits alert information through the wireless communication antenna (124). The system (100) returns to monitoring upon acknowledgment or safe thermal conditions.
