MUMBAI, India, June 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411088962 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group AG on November 18, 2024, for A System And A Method To Enhance Driving Experience In An Electric Vehicle (ev).
Inventors include Somashekhar Thambal Math; Abdul Rab Ansari; and Satyavrat Shahaji Mane.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: A system (100) to enhance driving experience in an Electric Vehicle (EV) comprises one or more Vibration Generation Units (VGUs) (102) mounted on any or both of a front sub frame FF and a rear sub frame of the EV. Each of the VGUs (102) includes a plurality of imbalance weights (106) mounted on a plurality of shafts (108) such that rotation of the shafts (108) generate vibrations. A Vibration Control Unit (VCU) (104) is communicably coupled to the VGU (102) and includes one or more processors (114) configured to receive one or more data associated with driving condition and power train condition of the EV, map the received data with pre-stored driving characteristics of the IC engine to extract vibration data of the IC engine corresponding to the driving condition, and transmit an activation signal to the VGU (102) to change operating parameters of the VGU (102).
