The method comprises receiving an image captured by a camera, and determining if the received image includes a shelf and an inventory. On determining that the received image includes the shelf, the method comprises determining if the received image includes an identifier for: the shelf; and 10 the inventory, if determined to be present in the received image. The method comprises recognizing the identifier for the shelf and the inventory. The method comprises comparing the recognized identifier pair of the shelf and the inventory with pre-existing identifier pairs, stored in, for example, a database. The method comprises initiating a mismatch handling response in view of a comparison mismatch, the comparison mismatch indicative of incorrect placement of 15 warehouse inventory.
