Abstract: A system (100) for application of a seatbelt in a vehicle includes at least one sensor (102) configured with a pre-tensioning motor (106) of the seatbelt. The sensor (102) is configured to capture one or more operating parameters during pre-tensioning operation of the motor (106) and generate signals corresponding to the operating parameters of the motor (106). An Electronic Control Unit (ECU) (104) is operably connected to the sensor (102). The ECU (104) is configured to receive, from the sensor (102), the signals corresponding to the at least one operating parameter of the motor (106) during the pre-tensioning operation. The ECU (104) analyses the at least one operating parameter of the motor (106) during the pre-tensioning operation and ascertain, if the seatbelt has been properly applied by an occupant of a corresponding seat.
