MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621079175 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Indore on June 26, 2026, for A System And Method For Assessing A Geographical Region.
Inventors include Roy, Srija; Mishra, Deepak; and Goyal, Manish Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: A method (600) for assessing a geographical region comprises acquiring (602) multi-temporal and multi-source spatial data corresponding to the geographical region, deriving (604) a plurality of indicators spatially associated with the geographical region, and generating (606) zone-specific indicators for a plurality of intra-regional analysis zones based on the derived indicators. The method (600) comprises deriving (608) a composite livability index for each intra-regional analysis zone based on the zone-specific indicators, and generating (610) a transient flood inundation output for the geographical region based on a temporal-frequency-based analysis of water detections derived from the acquired multi-temporal and multi-source spatial data. The method (600) comprises determining (612) future development investability of each intra-regional analysis zone based on the composite livability index and the transient flood inundation output, wherein the method (600) generates the geographical region assessment for spatial planning, risk assessment, and development decision support.
