Abstract: ABSTRACT A System and Method for Autonomous Robotic Benthic Restoration and Adaptive Water Body Maintenance The present invention discloses an autonomous robotic benthic restoration system for sustaining an aquatic water body. The robotic benthic restoration system comprises a buoyant robotic platform, a propulsion unit, multiple sensors, a processor, a sludge extraction unit utilizing vortices, a sediment containment device, a sediment separation system, and an aeration system. The sensors monitor benthic and water quality parameters comprising sludge depth, turbidity, dissolved oxygen level, and temperature. The processor creates a map of priority sediments and autonomously guides the robotic platform towards targeted benthic areas. The sludge extraction unit disturbs and removes compact sludge while the sediment containment device confines dispersal of suspended sediments. The sediment separation system holds compact sludge and discharges clarified water back into the water body. The aeration system controls the aeration process according to the intensity of sludge removal and present water quality parameters. Fig. 3
