Abstract: Disclosed is a personal-knowledge computing system (100) for capture-time resurfacing and association of records independently of content similarity. The system (100) includes a node and record store (102), a cognitive-signal computation module (104), a relation-evaluation and graph-construction module (106), a connected- component grouping module (108), a capture-time resurfacing engine (110), a prior-record ranking module (112), a signal-fired spark engine (114), a spark-object generation module (116), a derived-association module (118), a minimized-projection interface (120), and a language-model narrator (122). The system computes recency, hardening, and dormancy signals from elapsed time, revisit events, and graph connectivity; dynamically derives connected-component groups; and ranks nodes to preferentially surface dormant and hardened records upon capture of a new record. Signal-fired conditions generate associations representing convergence, reversal, or cross-linking. A minimized projection is supplied to the language-model narrator solely for narration, while association determination remains deterministic, local, explainable, and independent of semantic embeddings or model-based relevance decisions.
