MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611104512 A) filed by Graphic Era Deemed To Be University on August 31, 2026, for A System And Method For Cid-Bound Blockchain-Ipfs Electronic Medical Record Management And Disease Prediction.

Inventors include Maneesh Sharma; Prakash Srivastava; and Vivek Tomar.

The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.

Abstract: A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CID-BOUND BLOCKCHAIN-IPFS ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORD MANAGEMENT AND DISEASE PREDICTION The invention relates to electronic medical record management and medical artificial intelligence, and more particularly to a system and method that bind content-derived identifiers to off-chain EMRs stored in an IPFS decentralized storage layer while recording only the CID on a blockchain ledger through smart contracts. Upon authorized access, the CID is retrieved from the ledger and used to fetch the exact EMR instance for preprocessing and conversion into a machine-learning-compatible clinical feature set. A disease prediction engine processes the data using Random Forest and Gradient Boosting subcomponents in parallel, and a soft-voting hybrid ensemble generates a binary heart disease prediction with confidence. By associating each prediction with the CID, EMR version, and AI model version, the invention provides tamper-evident record indexing, reduced on-chain storage burden, traceable prediction provenance, and identification of outdated predictions, thereby improving integrity, reproducibility, and clinical decision support.
