Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for constructing a standardized multidimensional Socioeconomic Status Index (SESI) through a standardized methodological workflow for objectively integrating heterogeneous socioeconomic indicators. The methodology comprises acquisition of socioeconomic data, preprocessing of heterogeneous socioeconomic indicators, organization of the indicators into predefined conceptual socioeconomic domains, performance of Domain- wise Principal Component Analysis (Domain-wise PCA) for each predefined socioeconomic domain, generation of latent domain scores using the retained first principal component corresponding to each domain, statistical validation of the generated domain scores, estimation of domain weights from the proportion of variance explained by the retained first principal component corresponding to each predefined socioeconomic domain, and construction of the standardized multidimensional Socioeconomic Status Index through variance-based weighted aggregation of the latent domain scores. The generated socioeconomic status index is normalized and utilized for classification of individuals, households, or population groups into predefined socioeconomic categories. The disclosed methodological workflow provides an objective, reproducible, statistically robust, and scalable framework for multidimensional socioeconomic assessment while preserving the latent statistical characteristics associated with individual socioeconomic domains. The invention is applicable to public health research, demographic analysis, welfare programme evaluation, healthcare planning, ageing research, socioeconomic inequality assessment, and evidence-based policy formulation.
