Abstract: [089] The present invention provides a system for detecting counterfeit medicines and tracing physical drug packages through a permissioned distributed ledger. Each medicine package carries a multi-modal cryptographic tag having a secure element, a physically unclonable feature, an optical microtexture, a tamper-responsive conductor, and an environmental sensor. A verification terminal generates a state-bound challenge, acquires physical and cryptographic responses from the tag, and forms an authenticity event linked to a preceding custody state. Validator nodes accept the event only after verifying tag authenticity, custody continuity, sequence freshness, sensor integrity, and authorized-node signatures. An anomaly engine detects duplicate identities, impossible movements, tampering, environmental excursions, and inconsistent state transitions, and selectively initiates non-destructive spectral verification of the medicinal product. Failed verification causes a quarantine controller to inhibit dispensing and propagate recall information. The system therefore provides clone-resistant package authentication, verifiable chain-of- custody, reduced ledger storage, offline verification, and automated physical control of suspect medicines.
