Abstract: The present invention relates to an intelligent multi-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) coordination system configured to enable efficient and decentralized operation of multiple UAVs in dynamic and resource-constrained environments. The system integrates multi-agent reinforcement learning, sparse communication mechanisms, intention inference, heuristic-based threat detection, and cooperative energy management to enhance coordination and mission performance. Each UAV operates as an autonomous agent capable of making decisions based on local observations and learned policies, thereby eliminating reliance on centralized control. A selective communication framework is employed to reduce bandwidth usage by transmitting only critical information during significant events. The system further incorporates an intention inference mechanism to predict the actions of other agents under partial observability, enabling proactive and adaptive decision-making. Additionally, the invention provides a cooperative energy management approach, including a chase-based energy transfer mechanism that allows UAVs to share energy resources during operation, thereby ensuring uninterrupted mission execution. A heuristic-based detection module enables real-time identification of potential threats with minimal computational overhead.
