The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system and method for the estimation of true transient conduction current in polymeric insulation. The system consists of a non-linear fractional order circuit model (200) of polymeric insulation. The non-linear fractional order circuit model (200) parameters for LDPE may be estimated from experimentally measured conduction currents. The non-linear fractional order circuit model (200) is configured to predict anomalous conduction current characteristics which is observed experimentally in commercial electrometers (300) at different fields and temperatures. By using the non-linear fractional order circuit model (200), the experimental errors in interpreting the measured current characteristics are identified and correct conduction current characteristics are determined. Finally, the non- linear fractional order circuit model (200) is validated by comparing the experimentally measured conduction current and the estimated apparent current from the circuit.
