Abstract: Disclosed is a system (100) for detecting and classifying pancreatic abnormalities from scan images. The system (100) comprises a medical image acquisition module (102) for acquiring a scan image depicting a pancreas, a pre-processing module (104) for grayscale conversion, contrast enhancement, thresholding, and noise reduction, and a pancreas segmentation module (106) for identifying a pancreatic region. A region-of-interest extraction module (108) extracts the pancreatic region and background region. A GAIN computation module (110) analyses pixel-intensity information and computes a GAIN value representing intensity variation between the pancreatic region and the background region. A classification module (112) compares the GAIN value with threshold ranges to classify the pancreas as normal or abnormal. An output generation module (114), communication interface (116), and microcontroller unit (118) convert the classification into an actuation signal for selectively operating a normal-condition indicator (120) or an abnormal-condition indicator (122), providing a real-time hardware-based visual indication.
