MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611075196 A) filed by K. R. Mangalam University on June 17, 2026, for A System And Method For Generating Realistic Synthetic Indian Script Scene-Text Datasets.
Inventors include Ritu Devi; and Jyoti Yadav.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: A computer-implemented system (100) and method for generating a synthetic scene-text dataset in an Indian script are disclosed. A text input module (120) selects multilingual or code-mixed text, and a script-aware shaping engine (130) shapes the text by Unicode-compliant complex-script shaping so as to correctly render ligatures, conjuncts and reordered glyphs. A font and style generator (140) and a scene composition module (150) composite the text onto a background by scene segmentation and geometric analysis. An environmental-realism engine (160) applies illumination, blur, occlusion, reflection and sensor-noise effects in dependence upon realism parameters, which a realism-scoring module (170) calibrates, under closed-loop control, to statistics of a real scene-text image set so as to reduce a domain gap. An annotation unit (180) generates annotations and an output module (190) exports the dataset in a standard format.
