MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621101235 A) filed by Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed To Be University College Of Engineering, Pune on August 21, 2026, for A System And Method For Hybrid Autonomous Fish Stock Monitoring And Underwater Mapping.
Inventors include Prabhakar Ayalasomayajula; and Rudraksh Wani.
The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR HYBRID AUTONOMOUS FISH STOCK MONITORING AND UNDERWATER MAPPING The present disclosure relates to a system and method for hybrid autonomous fish stock monitoring and underwater mapping. The system (100) comprises a surface floating platform (102) including a processor (108) and a communication interface (110), an autonomous underwater vehicle (104) having one or more acoustic sensors (104a), and a multifunctional ribbon-profile umbilical cable (106) configured to provide continuous electrical power and bidirectional data communication between the surface floating platform (102) and the autonomous underwater vehicle (104). The processor (108) is configured to receive underwater acoustic data, generate and validate candidate fishing zones using remotely acquired marine environmental information and the underwater acoustic data, generate underwater mapping information and validated fish stock monitoring information, and adaptively control operation of the autonomous underwater vehicle (104). The communication interface (110) is configured to transmit the underwater mapping information and the validated fish stock monitoring information to a remote computing platform (112). FIG. 1 will be the reference figure.
