Abstract: ABSTRACT Title: A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPTIMIZED SERVICE FUNCTION CHAIN EMBEDDING AND RESOURCE ALLOCATION IN NFV- ENABLED ELASTIC OPTICAL NETWORKS. This invention relates to a cross-domain orchestration system for Service Function Chain (SFC) provisioning in Network Function Virtualization (NFV)-enabled elastic optical networks. It introduces a centralized embedding mechanism that jointly determines virtual network function (VNF) placement with reuse and multi-VNF consolidation on general-purpose servers, along with routing and spectrum assignment in the optical transport domain. The computed decisions are executed through NFV Management and Orchestration (MANO) for compute resources and a Software-Defined Networking (SDN) controller for optical transport resources.
