The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system (102) and a method (200) for performing message origin attribution. The system (102) receives one or more message artifacts associated with a message, extract and normalize attribution signals, and classifies the attribution signals into a plurality of provenance classes based on respective origins of generation or insertion. A trust value is assigned to each attribution signal according to the corresponding provenance class. Routing information associated with the message is analyzed to identify one or more routing anomalies and determine semantic validity of a message transmission path. The assigned trust values are adjusted based on the identified routing anomalies and relationships among the attribution signals to generate adjusted attribution signals. A probable origin of the message is determined using the adjusted attribution signals, and an attribution confidence value is generated.
