MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641085685 A) filed by Manipal Academy Of Higher Education on July 13, 2026, for A System And Method For Photobiomodulation And Pneumatic Compression Therapy.
Inventors include Mohammed Sameer Ahmed; Sahajanya Srikanth; and Vineet.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: The invention discloses a system (100) and a method for providing photobiomodulation and pneumatic compression therapy. The system (100) comprises a light-based therapeutic subsystem (301) having a light emitter unit (301A), a light sensor unit (301B), a temperature sensor unit (301C), and a signal conversion unit (301D), and a pressure-based therapeutic subsystem (303) having a pneumatic compression unit (303A). The light-based therapeutic subsystem (301) and the pressure-based therapeutic subsystem (303) operate in a closed-loop, phase-coordinated sequence, wherein reflected light response from the light sensor unit (301B) and blood flow data from a blood flow monitoring unit (303E) are fed back to the signal conversion unit (301D) to adaptively adjust photon emission intensity and pneumatic compression magnitude, such that high-intensity photon delivery is synchronised with a vascular-cleared tissue state and continuous wave photon delivery is synchronised with a reperfusion state. A processor (201) computes a plurality of therapeutic indices, integrates them into a Composite Monitoring Score, and transmits the Composite Monitoring Score to a remote device (101) via a network (105).
