MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611075197 A) filed by K. R. Mangalam University on June 17, 2026, for A System And Method For Real-Time Adaptation Of Teaching Strategies Based On Learner Cognitive Load.
Inventor includes Prof. Dr. Tania Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to adaptive learning and discloses a computer-implemented method and system (1200) performed by one or more hardware processors for real-time adaptation of teaching strategies based on learner cognitive load. Real-time behavioural and interaction signals, including attention metrics, response latency, and error frequency, are captured, validated, and indexed into a real-time Cognitive Load Index (CLI). The CLI is compared against predefined threshold bands corresponding to underload, optimal, and overload conditions, and one or more instructional parameters such as pacing, scaffolding, repetition, and complexity are dynamically adjusted. Teacher alerts and pacing recommendations are generated, and a learner-specific cognitive load history map is maintained and fed back in a continuous loop. The invention transforms raw behavioural data into dynamic instructional control signals, enabling differentiated, cognitively-optimized instruction.
