The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT: Title: A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SECURE UPI TRANSACTIONS USING PALM VEIN BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION The present invention discloses a system (100) and method (200) for enabling secure Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transactions through palm vein biometric authentication. The system comprises a palm vein scanner, a mobile or Point-of-Sale (POS) device, a secure backend server, and an interface to UPI infrastructure. The scanner captures the unique subcutaneous vein pattern of a user’s palm using near-infrared imaging, which is then converted into a biometric template. This template is encrypted and transmitted to a backend server where it is matched against registered templates stored securely. Upon successful authentication, the system maps the verified biometric identity to the user's UPI Virtual Payment Address (VPA) and initiates a payment request. The invention ensures end-to-end encryption, multi-factor security, and eliminates the need for traditional PIN-based or contact-dependent authentication methods. Main Illustrative:
