Abstract: A System and Method for Wave Energy Conversion by Mechanical Rectification Using Dual Opposed Float Arms The invention relates to marine renewable energy conversion and, more particularly, to a wave energy system and method that convert oscillatory wave-driven motion into substantially continuous unidirectional rotary output. Opposed floating arms (104) are coupled to a central shaft (103) such that rising and falling waves impose oscillatory torque on the central shaft (103). A mechanical rectification transmission assembly (200), including transmission gears (210), intermediate gears (220), clutch gears (230), and an output gear (106), converts the bidirectional input into same-direction rotary output delivered to a flywheel (101), an energy storage system (102), and a final output shaft (260). The system harvests energy from both upward and downward wave motion, reduces dead zones and back-driving, and provides smoother output suitable for power generation.
