MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521028979 A) filed by Tata Motors Limited on March 27, 2025, for A System And Method Of Switching Low Voltage (lv) Power Integrated In High Voltage (hv) Battery.
Inventors include Anu Soman; and Santosh Jagade.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT A SYSTEM AND METHOD OF SWITCHING LOW VOLTAGE (LV) POWER INTEGRATED IN HIGH VOLTAGE (HV) BATTERY The present disclosure discloses a switching system and a switching method for Low Voltage (LV) power integrated in a High Voltage (HV) battery in a vehicle. The switching system comprises the HV battery, an HV DC/DC converter, an isolation circuit and a control circuit. The HV battery further comprises a plurality of battery cells, wherein a set of battery cells among the plurality of battery cells supplies a first LV power to an LV load, when an ignition state of the vehicle is OFF. The HV DC/DC converter converts an HV power of the HV battery to a second LV power to be supplied to the LV load when the ignition state of the vehicle is ON. The isolation unit isolates the LV load from the HV battery and the control circuit generates an output to control operation of the isolation circuit based on at least one of the first LV power and the second LV power. The isolation circuit selectively couples the LV load to the first LV power supply based on the output of the control circuit. FIG. 3
