Abstract: A system (100) and method (200) for capturing handwritten content on a board (150) includes an image acquisition unit (102) to capture images of handwritten content associated with a lecture on the board (150) at a predefined interval or upon pressing a button or sensing a gesture from a person delivering the lecture; a processor (104) extracts machine-readable text from the received captured images using an optical character recognition (OCR) technique (104A); and analyze using an artificial intelligence (AI) semantic structuring technique (104B) to identify lecture topics, detect topic transitions between the identified lecture topics and logically segments into topic-based content sections. The processor (104) generates topic-based searchable documents and stores in a remote server to maintain an index content repository for content retrieval. The processor (104) retrieves lecture content from the indexed content repository in response to a user query, generates response, an assessment report and/or quizzes.
