Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a system for detecting a cardiac biomarker comprises a substrate comprising polyimide; a laser-induced graphene (LIG) electrode fabricated on said substrate by laser ablation, wherein said laser-induced graphene (LIG) electrode comprises a porous structure defined by: a central semi- circular region, wherein a center of said semi-circle serves as an origin for defining dimensions, a linear array of vertical channels extending downward from the semi- circular region, and a rectangular base section at a termination of each vertical channel, wherein adjacent rectangular bases are separated by a uniform gap; a reference electrode coated with Silver/Silver Chloride Paste; a counter electrode; a potentiostat electrically connected to the LIG electrode, the reference electrode, and the counter electrode; and a detection module configured to analyze electrochemical signals from the potentiostat to detect the cardiac biomarker.
