MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641125937 A) filed by National Engineering College on October 22, 2026, for A System For Detecting And Labelling Ai-Generated Media.
Inventors include Abisha B; Inaya Noori A; Girida S; and P Rampriya.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: A system (100) for detecting and labelling AI-generated or manipulated digital video, is disclosed. Said system (100) comprises a user interface (101), a video processing module (102), a processing controller (103), an AI processing unit (104), a decision engine (105), a backend server (106), a result notification module (107), and a database module (108). The video processing module (102) validates and preprocesses an input video by extracting video frames, reducing noise, normalizing brightness, resizing resolution, and analysing metadata and compression characteristics. The processing controller (103) maintains frame ordering and transfers processed frames to the ai processing unit (104), which performs spatial analysis and temporal sequence analysis. The decision engine (105) determines an AI-generated probability and generates a corresponding classification. The result notification module (107) provides an authenticity label comprising Verified Real Video, Suspicious Content Detected, or AI-Generated / Deepfake Video. The system (100) is particularly applicable to short and potentially degraded video sequences.
