MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511006191 A) filed by Renault S. A. S on January 24, 2025, for A System For Generating Personalized Virtual Mascots For Display In A Vehicle.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system 100 for generating and displaying a personalized virtual mascot (PVM) 402 on an infotainment unit 104 of a vehicle. The system 100 includes a camera 110 for capturing an image of a driver 112. The image of the driver 112 is compared with images of drivers previously registered with the vehicle, to determine if the driver 112 is already registered with the vehicle or not. Upon identifying an unregistered driver, the system 100 retrieves a mascot 114 and configures the mascot 114 by mapping the face of the driver 112, for creating the PVM 402. The PVM 402 is displayed on the infotainment unit 104 and allowed to interact with the driver 112 for performing operations such as changing lighting conditions, seat position, and driving mode in a vehicle.
