Abstract: The present invention relates to a system for integrating patent drafting into engineering design education to enhance innovation capability, creativity, and intellectual property awareness among engineering students. The method comprises guided topic selection, creativity-driven conceptual design, functional analysis, patent searching using classification and keyword techniques, novelty assessment, and iterative refinement of both design and patent documentation. A dedicated system architecture enables seamless connectivity between design development, patent analysis, drafting, and evaluation modules, thereby aligning technical creativity with legal and commercial considerations. By engaging students in the preparation of complete patent drafts, including claims and technical drawings, the invention fosters structured problem- solving, interdisciplinary learning, and real-world innovation skills. The disclosed approach bridges the gap between academic engineering education and intellectual property protection, preparing students for research, development, entrepreneurship, and technology commercialization in innovation-driven industries.
