Abstract: A system for forecasting a siltation risk and optimizing a dredging operation for a port or channel is disclosed, comprising a data acquisition component receiving a real-time and historical dataset from a satellite, a buoy sensor, a rainfall / river-discharge source, and a port authority dredging log. A data preprocessing and harmonization component performs temporal normalization to a common scale, spatial interpolation of gridded data to port locations, statistical interpolation of missing values, and derived feature extraction, computing a Wave Energy Flux, a Sediment Transport Index, and a Rainfall Sediment Load Index. A predictive modeling component applies rule-based reasoning and a trained machine learning model, using historical dredging volumes as labels, generating a Siltation Risk Index and a forecasted dredging schedule identifying a time window when dredging is required, presented via a visualization and decision support dashboard, enabling proactive, computationally efficient siltation management in place of reactive, fixed-cycle dredging practices.
