MUMBAI, India, Oct. 19 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611096842 A) filed by Baba Farid College Of Engineering And Technology on August 11, 2026, for A System For Solar-Adaptive Wastewater Dewatering And A Method Therefor.
Inventors include Dr. Jasmeet Kaur; Dr. Pankaj Kumar; Ms. Parneet Kaur; and Prof. Dr. Naveen Thakur.
The application for the patent was published on October 16, 2026, under issue no. 42/2026.
Abstract: Disclosed system (100) comprises a wastewater feed assembly (102) for supplying wastewater to a photothermal Janus membrane (104) comprising a porous hydrophobic photothermal layer (106), a hydrophilic transport layer (108), and an evaporation interface (110). The system (100) further comprises an adaptive optical concentrator assembly (112) for varying solar radiation incident on the porous hydrophobic photothermal layer (106). The system (100) further comprises a closed-loop ferrofluid circulation assembly (114) containing a magnetically responsive heat-transfer fluid, and a magnetic-field generator (116) for generating a non-uniform magnetic field. The system further comprises a membrane-temperature sensor (118), a solar-irradiance sensor (120), and a control unit (122) for coordinating solar heat input and spatial heat distribution. The system (100) further comprises a vapor chamber (124), a condenser (126), and a freshwater reservoir (128) for recovering freshwater from generated water vapor. FIG. 1 is the reference figure.
