Abstract: The present invention relates to an automated vision-based system and method for inspection of undercarriage components of a rail fleet. The system (100) is configured to capture image data of the undercarriage components using a line-scan camera (103) during movement of the rail fleet. The captured images are processed through an image processing pipeline comprising preprocessing, segmentation, and region-based analysis to identify component-specific regions of interest.
