MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611060047 A) filed by Noida Institute Of Engineering And Technology Pharmacy Institute on May 12, 2026, for A Targeted Drug Delivery System For Infectious Diseases.
Inventors include Soumya Mishra Tripathi; and Pakhi Chakraborty.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: The present invention provides a targeted drug delivery system for infectious diseases comprising a carrier core, payload compartment, stimulus responsive barrier, targeting interface, stabilizing matrix, and administration medium. The system localizes anti infective agents near microorganisms, infected cells, inflamed tissue, or biofilm matrices and releases payload in response to infection associated pH, enzymes, redox state, or metabolites. Optional compartmentalized co-delivery and feedback reporting support improved therapeutic control, stability, and monitoring while reducing nonspecific systemic exposure.
