Abstract: Agriculture remains a primary source of livelihood for a large population in India, yet farmers often face challenges such as crop diseases, improper crop selection, and limited access to agricultural expertise. These challenges frequently result in reduced productivity and financial loss. Although technological solutions exist, many farmers lack access to intelligent and easy-to-use decision support systems suitable for rural conditions. Smart Indian Farmer Assistant is an intelligent agricultural platform designed to support farmers by providing crop disease detection and crop recommendation through artificial intelligence technologies. The system analyzes crop images using deep learning models and evaluates soil and environmental parameters using machine learning algorithms to deliver accurate agricultural insights. The platform operates through a smartphone-based interface, enabling farmers to access expert-level guidance directly from their devices. It also provides explainable recommendations that help farmers understand the reasoning behind system outputs, thereby improving trust and adoption.
