MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641082905 A) filed by Manipal Academy Of Higher Education on July 06, 2026, for A Vascular Coupler Device For Intraluminal Coupling And Method Of Operation Thereof.
Inventors include Sahajanya Srikanth; and Mohammed Sameer Ahmed.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: A method of operating a Vascular Coupler Device (100) comprises selecting an appropriate coupler size by measuring the target vessel internal diameter, inserting a collapsed Expandable Lattice Chassis (101) into the lumen of both cut vessel ends over the first and second opposing zones of a Dual Vessel Receiving Zone (103) to achieve axial alignment without eversion or wall penetration, actuating an Actuator Handle (109) to retract a Constraining Sleeve (107) causing the Expandable Lattice Chassis (101) to expand radially generating controlled radial force against the inner walls of both vessel ends without penetrating the vessel wall, pressing a Micro Textured Ridge (105) against the inner wall surface of both vessel ends generating contact pressure creating a fluid tight seal without penetrating perforating or everting the vessel wall, and verifying burst resistance thereby confirming sutureless non penetrating intraluminal vascular coupling of both vessel ends.
