The assembly (100) includes a backrest (110), a seat pan (120) and a support assembly (130). The support assembly (130) is arranged within the backrest (110) or on the seat pan (120), and is configured to move between a stow position (130a) and a support position (130b). The support assembly (130) includes a support plate (132) and a folding element (135). A first end (132a) of the support plate (132) is rotatably fixed to a carrier (140) arranged on the backrest (110)/ seat pan (120). The folding element (135) with a proximal end (135a) is rotatably connected to a second end (132b) of the support plate (132) and a distal end (135b) rotatably fixed to the carrier (140), the folding element (135) is configured to move the support plate (132) between the stow position (130a) and the support position (130b).
