MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611109842 A) filed by Iimt College Of Management on September 13, 2026, for A Waste-Container Management System And Method Thereof.

Inventors include Dr. Abhaya Nand; and Dr. Jitendra Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: A waste-container management system (100) and method (500) are disclosed for monitoring and managing collection of a waste container (102). The system (100) includes an ultrasonic sensor (104), a load cell (106), an accelerometer (108), a gas sensor (110), and a temperature sensor (112) coupled to a controller (114) and a wireless transceiver (116). Sensor data is transmitted through a communication gateway (118) to a remote server (120) having processors (122) and a memory (124). The processors (122) determine a current fill state and a waste accumulation rate and, using a predictive model (126) and historical data, determine a predicted time for reaching a predetermined fill threshold. The waste container (102) is identified for collection based on a predetermined collection condition, and a collection route is generated based on associated operational information. The system (100) further supports determination of waste compaction and abnormal conditions based on sensor data.
