Abstract: A water wave barrier system (100) for enhancing coastal protection and soil erosion control. The barrier system (100) comprises one or more slatted barriers (102) positioned at pre-determined distances from a wave generator source (104). Each of the one or more slatted barriers (102) comprise a set of vertical side beams (106), and a plurality of slats (108) strategically positioned in between the set of vertical side beams (106) to form a plurality of passages (110) configured to allow partial passage of incoming waves resulting in dissipating incoming wave energy from the wave generator source (104) and reducing heights of incoming waves. Further, the barrier system (100) comprises a tranquil zone (116) provided at a lee side of the slatted barrier (102) to reduce wave loads acting on the coastal areas, thereby enhancing coastal protection and soil erosion control.
