MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611117175 A) filed by Vivekananda Institute Of Professional Studies - Technical Campus on September 30, 2026, for A Wearable Graphene Log-Periodic Terahertz Antenna System And Method With Electrical Frequency Tuning.
Inventors include Dr. Rajesh Yadav; and Prof. Dr. Ravi Prakash Iyer.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to wearable terahertz antennas and discloses a flexible multilayer antenna system having graphene-based log-periodic radiating elements E1 to E9 on flexible dielectric substrate layers, a metallic nanostrip feedline, a defective ground structure, a terahertz excitation source, and an electrical biasing and tuning interface. Compared with conventional fixed-frequency wearable antennas, the disclosed system provides electrically controllable frequency tuning by adjusting graphene conductivity without physical modification, while maintaining operation under bending and improving broadband impedance behavior through the defective ground structure and layered architecture. In embodiments, Substrate-1, Substrate-2, Ground Plane, Stub, Vias, and bias source V cooperate to support terahertz excitation over about 5.5 THz to 7.0 THz, including resonant responses near 5.91 THz and 6.31 THz. The system is principally useful for wrist-mounted smart health wearable devices and on-body terahertz communication.
