Abstract: A WEB BASED COLLEGE CARPOOLING SYSTEM WITH SECURE REAL-TIME RIDE MATCHING FOR CAMPUS COMMUTERS ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION The present invention discloses a web-based carpooling system engineered to provide structured, verified, and cost-transparent ride-sharing through a role-based modular web architecture. The system comprises a three-role access control engine with dedicated dashboards for Administrator, Rider, and User, secured using JSON Web Token based stateless authentication and role-specific session enforcement. An administrator-controlled rider verification workflow mandates driving license image submission and approval before riders can publish rides. A four-digit One Time Password generation and verification mechanism authenticates passenger identity at pickup through server-side OTP storage and rider validation. A dynamic pricing engine enables administrator-configured first-kilometre and per-kilometre fares reflected in real-time ride searches. The platform employs a three-tier architecture using React.js, Node.js Express RESTful backend, MySQL with foreign-key integrity, connection pooling, and Multer-based license image handling.
