MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641119329 A) filed by Sr University on October 06, 2026, for A Wireless Multimedia Sensor Network System.
Inventors include Dr. Sushree Bibhuprada B. Priyadarshini; Dr. Sandip Bhattacharya; Dr. Sagarika Pattnaik; and Madhusmita Samal.
The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a wireless multimedia sensor network system (100) that comprises a plurality of scalar sensor nodes (102), a plurality of video sensor nodes (104), a communication network (106), a sink/base station (108), and a processing unit (110). The processing unit (110) comprises a pre-processing module (112), a clustering module (114), a leadership selection module (116), a video actuation module (118), a tracking module (120), a migration module (122), a handover module (124), a resource allocation module (126), and a reporting module (128). The system (100) is configured to detect events, form event-associated clusters, select a cluster leader using a Distributed Scalar Leadership Score, selectively activate video sensor nodes (104) using a Video Actuation Utility Score, track multiple events, perform dynamic cluster-leader migration, and provide predictive inter-cluster handover based on event movement, thereby facilitating energy-aware sensing, reduced unnecessary video activation, reduced multimedia communication overhead, and continuous event tracking.
