MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511074868 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Ropar on August 06, 2025, for A Wound Healing Hydrogel And A Method Of Preparation Thereof.
Inventors include Singh, Narinder; Naidu, Srivatsava; Devi, Renu; Sharma, Mansi; and Singh, Jagdish.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a wound healing hydrogel (100). The hydrogel (100) comprising a chitosan-based polymer matrix (102), wherein the chitosan forms a base for a hydrogel (100), at least one long-chain alkylated peptidomimetic compound (104) selected from a group consisting of hexyl isocyanate (HICN), octyl isothiocyanate (OITC), and dodecyl isocyanate (DITC) incorporated into the matrix and a zinc-samarium oxide (ZnO@Sm2O3) nanoparticles (106) dispersed within the matrix comprising the peptidomimetic. The hydrogel (100) exhibits antioxidant activity, effectively neutralizing oxidative stress in biological environments. The synthesized peptidomimetic compounds maintain 100% antioxidant efficacy, thereby protecting regenerating tissues during the wound healing process.
