Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a wrist-based step validation system (100) that distinguishes valid walking steps from non-gait wrist movements using multi-sensor fusion, biomechanical motion analysis, and wrist tissue damping analysis. The wrist-based step validation system (100) comprises a wearable wristband assembly (101), an outer housing (102), a printed circuit board (PCB) (110), an inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensor module (112), a load sensor (114), a control unit (116), a wireless communication module (118), a power management circuit (120), and a server (122). The wrist-based step validation system (100) is configured to support adaptive threshold tuning based on detected wrist load, motion context, and biomechanical oscillation behaviour. The wrist-based step validation system (100) is configured for integration with healthcare monitoring systems, rehabilitation systems, fitness tracking systems, remote monitoring infrastructures, and connected IoT ecosystems.
