Abstract: A zigzag SiC nanoribbon (ZSiNCR) and a method thereof is disclosed. The Zigzag SiC Nanoribbon (ZSiNCR) is configured by a sp3 passivation with H-passivated (sp3-H-ZSiNCR) at edges of the nanoribbon. Further, based on the passivation, the ZSiCNR is configured to be equipped with half metallic property and produce spin- polarized current in a spintronic device.
