The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: 6. ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION: The novel Zinc(II) coordination complex comprising 1,10-phenanthroline, methyl-orange derived sulfonate ions, and water molecules. The zinc(II) center is coordinated by two bidentate 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and two aqua ligands, while methyl orange sulfonate is present as a counterion and two water molecules are incorporated as lattice water. The complex was prepared by a simple slow-evaporation crystallization method, wherein Zinc(TI) acetate and 1,10- phenanthroline are dissolved in water and ethanol, respectively, while methyl orange is separately dissolved in water and mixed with ethanol. The resulting solutions are combined and maintained under controlled slow-evaporation conditions to obtain single crystal material. The obtained crystals are characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, FT-1R, UV-Visible spectroscopy, TGA-DSC, and SEM-EDX to establish their structural, spectroscopic, thermal, and crystallographic properties. The complex exhibits a defined Zn(II) coordination environment with intermolecular hydrogen-bonding and aromatic interactions, providing a Zn(II) complex with potential applications in coordination chemistry, and biological investigations
